A Mixture of Meal and Pellets
Cereal blend is a mixture of cereal meal and mixed pellets. We grind a range of cereal together such as wheat, barley, maize, breakfast cereals with confectionery by-products, peas and beans to produce a meal consistency. Into that, we add mixed pellets such as pea and bean pellets and cereal pellets. This ration is not mineralised so that it is suitable to be fed to all types of stock.

We produce a ration with a 16% protein level, and we recommend that the cereal blend be fed from 3 months upward when the rumen is more developed and full advantage can be taken. It can be introduced on an ad lib basis; however, it can also be fed to younger stock, such as at suckling. Care must be taken, as with all high energy feeds, and animals must be introduced on to it slowly. As with all complimentary feeds, good quality and consistent forage should be made available to all animals, along with clean water.
